This year´s Seminar focuses on "Re-coding Your Ethics".

The Code of Ethics is discussed from various different perspectives. The main aim is to consider what the code of ethics nowadays means and how it is applied in the everyday Sign Language interpreting work.

Seminar covers the following aspects:
. Ethics as part of the interpreter team´s work process . How interpretation according to the Code of Ethics nowadays works . Roles and how to provide support to each other ethically . Best practices to working with the Code of Ethics.

As plenary speakers we have Zane Hema (UK), Pirkko Selin-Grönlund
(Finland) and Virpi Thúren (Finland). Zane Hema and Virpi Thúren are experienced interpreters that have been working on national and international settings. Pirkko Selin-Grönlund is an executive working for The Finnish Association of the Deaf.

The price for the seminar is 60 euros. Student fee is 40 euros. The price includes lunch and coffee. Accommodation is not included. Every participant is asked to make their own accommodation reservations.

The Nordic Seminar 2010 is organised by the Finnish Association of Sign Language Interpreters (SVT) in cooperation with the Diak University of Applied Sciences and Humak University of Applied Sciences.

SEMINAR PROGRAMME
Seminar will take place according to the following tentative schedule:
Saturday 17th April 2010 from 10 am to 4.pm
Sunday1 8th April 2010 from 10 am to 3.15pm

LANGUAGE
The Seminar will be presented in English.
Correspondence with SVT and official documents will be in English. No interpreting services will be provided. Please bring your own interpreter if needed.
