EUMASLI (European Master in Sign Language Interpreting)
EUMASLI in an innovative European Master“s degree programme in Sign Language Interpreting intended to contribute to the development of the professional field of interpreting between Deaf and hearing people in Europe.
It is jointly run by the University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal (Germany), HUMAK University of Applied Sciences (Helsinki/Kuopio, Finland) and Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh, UK). Next programme will start in September 2011.

Description
The EUMASLI programme in conceived of as an opportunity for theoretically-informed reflection upon professional and performance aspects of sign language interpreting and translation.
We expect graduates from the programme to add new insights to the expanding body of learning and research and to be able to contribute significantly to the growth of sign language interpreting as a coherent self-organized professional field providing quality services to Deaf and hearing citizens.
Selection criteria
Entry criteria for the programme are follows
- a first university degree
- at least three years of professional experience as a sign language interpreter
- English competence (=main language of instruction)
