Turku is European City of Culture and Education

Along with Humak there operates three universities in Turku: University of Turku, Turku University of Applied Sciences and Diak UAS and two working in Swedish: Åbo Akademi ja Novia. Swedish is another official language in Finland, that’s why. The first school’s and the university in Finland were established in Turku. The first university – Turku Academy – was moved to Helsinki after the Great Fire of 1827. That university is today known as The University of Helsinki. Turku is unquestionably the city of education and one of the most attractive cities in Finland to study. Actually all the places where Humak operates are popular cities for studies.

Turku is the olders student city in Finland. First schools and the first university in Finland was established in Turku.

Archipelago Campus in Harjattula

Our campus is situated in Turku Archipelago, which many consider as one of the finest archipelagos and nature experiences in the wold. The campus is 23 kilometres from the City Market Square and it takes about 30 minutes from city centre (The bus number 15 (look at. Kauppatori – Kakskerta (Harjattula)). Campus is established to the ground of an old Mansion and is surrounded by full 18 holes golf course. And yes, there is a sauna by the waterfront too – as actually also in Jyväskylä, Nurmijärvi and Kuopio campuses as well.

Kiss My Turku

Yes, as funny as it sounds, this is City of Turku’s Tourist Office’s slogan for Turku. This means that Turku has attitude and it is proud of its heritage. Due to its long history, Turku

Turussa, Suomen vanhimmassa kaupungissa, on lähes 184.000 asukasta. Lähikunnat mukaanlukien alueella asuu 254.o00 asukasta. Turun historia näkyy katukuvassa monikerroksisena arkkitehtuurina ja laajoina säilyneinä puukaupunkiosina. Vaikka Turusta puhuttaessa puhutaan usein “Turun taudista” ja rakennusten purkamisesta on kaupungissa säilytetty eniten ennen toista maailmansotaa rakennettuja rakennuksia Suomessa.

Aurajoki, Turku.
Turun jokirannasta on kehkeytynyt viime vuosina kulinaristinen mekka.

Turku on tapahtumien kaupunki.

Turku on lähempänä Eurooppaa.

Kaupungin nähtävyyksiin ja tapahtumiin voi tutustua osoitteissa:

  • VisitTurku – nähtävyydet
  • Mobile-kustannus – tapahtumat (paras tapahtumakalenteri viihteeseen ja leffoihin)
