Humak has 2200 students who study full-time at our campuses, complete their studies as multiform learning while working, or study completely online. We’ve also got thousands of Open UAS students who have taken pathway studies leading to degree studies, or wish to deepen their knowledge with single courses or study modules offered through our Open UAS.<\/p>\n
Please, note that at the current moment Humak has TWO degree programmes in English:<\/strong><\/p>\n Application period for Bachelor of Adventure and Outdoor Education is annually in January.<\/p>\n Application period for EUMASLI is announced on the study programmes’ webpage<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n At Humak you can complete studies leading to Bachelor’s or Master’s level degrees.<\/p>\n Please note that the studies are carried mostly in Finnish, except for the two programmes mentioned above. The Finnish-language degree programmes are suitable only for people able to study in Finnish.<\/p>\n According to our findings, Humak graduates are satisfied with their degree. Humak trains students in community-based and humane professions. Humak’s values of equality, communality and individualism are reflected in everything we do.<\/p>\n Studying at a university of applied sciences is practical and close to working life. During your studies, it’s possible to integrate tasks given by working life partners as part of your degree. Students looking to complete master’s degrees must have at least two years of prior experience in an applicable field (after completing a bachelor’s degree). Chosen students often have a development project for their organisation that they further during their master’s degree studies.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Online studies<\/strong> take place in digital learning environments and contain group work, projects and training periods. Some of the studies are scheduled but otherwise studies must be scheduled independently. Online education means studying full-time, but it also allows for a coordination of flexible work and studying. With such coordination, the training periods relating to studies must be considered if there is no possibility to replace them with earlier experience or complete them in the workplace.<\/p>\n Multiform studies<\/strong> contain scheduled contact teaching on the student\u2019s own campus 1-2 days a week per average. The studies emphasise students\u2019 self-scheduled independent studies and online studies. Studies contain group and project work as well as training periods. The training periods usually require being present at the workplace at agreed working hours. Studying is full-time and it includes mandatory presence at times, but coordinating work and studies is easier than with daytime studies.<\/p>\n Daytime studies<\/strong> contain scheduled contact teaching on the student\u2019s own campus. The studies also include group assignments and projects, training periods, online studies and independent work. Group work takes place both face-to-face and online.
