Separate Application<\/h2>\n
The separate application period for spring is 1.-15.5. and autumn 1.-15.11.<\/p>\n
Open UAS separate application: Adventure and Outdoor Education – autumn 2024<\/h2>\n
Study programme: Community Educator, Adventure and Outdoor Education (Bachelor of Humanities).
\nNext application period: 1.-15.11.2024. Fill and submit the Open UAS Path application in Study Info.
\nStudy right starts: 1.1.2025.<\/p>\n
A student who has completed minimum of 40 ECTS of studies at the Humak Open University of Applied Sciences by the end of the application period can apply for the separate application of the open pathway.<\/p>\n
Studies have to be included in the curriculum of Humak Community Educator, Adventure and Outdoor Education.<\/p>\n
To be eligible for application on the basis of Open UAS studies, the applicant must have completed:<\/p>\n
Adventure Education \u2013 Theory meets practice 22 ECTS <\/strong>(April 2024 – September 2024)<\/p>\n\n- Introduction to Adventure Education, 2 ECTS<\/li>\n
- Instructor Skills and Activity Based Methods, 5 ECTS<\/li>\n
- Experiential Learning, 5 ECTS<\/li>\n
- Outdoor Skills in Adventure Education, 10 ECTS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
In addition to selecting the Adventure Education \u2013 Theory Meets Practice 22 ECTS<\/em> package, at least these 20 credits must be chosen; the courses will be available in Humak Open UAS store in April 2024:<\/p>\n\n- Promoting human rights and diversity, 5 ECTS (online studies, summer studies 2024)<\/li>\n
- Collaborative pedagogy, 5 ECTS (online studies, summer studies 2024)<\/li>\n
- Professional literary skills 5 ECTS (online studies, autumn 2024)<\/li>\n
- Study skills and digital competencies 5 ECTS (online studies, autumn 2024)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Additionally, students may choose to complete any English-language courses offered by the Open UAS, which can be accredited as part of their degree studies, such as:<\/p>\n
\n- Finnish language 1, 5 ECTS (online studies, summer studies 2024)<\/li>\n
- Employment relations and co-operation, 5 ECTS<\/li>\n
- any available English-language common studies courses for example Projects and finances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

- Applicants\u00a0are\u00a0required\u00a0to\u00a0have\u00a0adequate\u00a0language\u00a0skills. Language\u00a0skills\u00a0can\u00a0be\u00a0tested\u00a0as\u00a0part\u00a0of a\u00a0selection\u00a0interview.<\/li>\n
- Possible special needs of applicants must be reported to Humak UAS’s Applicant Services during the application period.<\/li>\n
- If the amount of applicants exceeds the amount of the starting places, applicants will be ranked according to the following criteria:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

\n- Applicants will be notified of student selection decisions by e-mail to the e-mail address provided on the application form. The message also contains instructions for receiving the study place and registering for the academic year.<\/li>\n
- Accepting\u00a0the\u00a0place\u00a0of\u00a0study\u00a0is\u00a0binding\u00a0and\u00a0you\u00a0cannot\u00a0cancel\u00a0the\u00a0reception\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0place\u00a0of\u00a0study\u00a0later.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
