Any Humak student can become a member of HUMAKO: a student studying in the full-time, multimodal or online programmes, open UAS student or a master&#8217;s degree student. Membership is worthwhile, as you can become part of the student union community and take advantage of community-specific and national student benefits. HUMAKO makes sure that your studies go smoothly.<\/p>\n<p>HUMAKO&#8217;s mission is to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>support students<\/li>\n<li>make students&#8217; voices heard<\/li>\n<li>provide student benefits<\/li>\n<li>create communality and networks among students<\/li>\n<li>ensure that the teaching is of high quality<\/li>\n<li>give students the opportunity to do things themselves and learn<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can read more about the benefits of membership and becoming a member on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humako.net\/en\">student union&#8217;s website<\/a> (the link takes you to another site).<\/p>\n<h2>HUMAKO Member Benefits<\/h2>\n<p>Becoming a member is worth it, because members get to take advantage of local and national student benefits.<\/p>\n<p>HUMAKO member benefits and discounts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>discounts for products important to students, such as electricity contracts, e- and audiobooks or study materials<\/li>\n<li>discounts for various services, such as restaurants, wellness and cultural activities or sports<\/li>\n<li>member-priced event tickets at campus locations<\/li>\n<li>benefits reimbursed by Kela, i.e. local transport, VR and Matkahuolto, as well as meals at student prices in student canteens (Note: these apply only to those studying in education leading to a degree)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Read more about our membership and becoming a member on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humako.net\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Humako&#8217;s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Local Activities &#8211; Tutors and Branches<\/h2>\n<p>Tutors and branches are important activities of the student union. The role of the tutors is to support you in study-related situations, and it focuses on organizing events and well-being on the campus.<\/p>\n<p>Tutors support you during your studies. You can contact them if you have questions about your studies, internships, or student life. You can reach the tutors immediately by sending them an e-mail to etutor@ humako.net or by participating in a discussion with tutors and other students logged in with the eTutor Course found in Humak&#8217;s Hoodle.
