Alumni activities
Our alumni are our most important connection to working life.
Alumni relations in a nutshell
Everyone who has graduated from Humak is part of our alumni community. The community also includes all international students who have studied at Humak for at least three months.
As an alumnus or alumna, you are part of our multidisciplinary community of experts. The alumni community offers opportunities for networking, collaboration, professional development and the continuous development of education.
As an alumnus or alumna, you also receive benefits: you can study free of charge in Humak’s Open University of Applied Sciences for two years after graduation. This gives you the opportunity, for example, to explore the kinds of content offered in Master’s-level UAS studies.
You can take part in alumni activities in the way that suits you best – welcome to join us!

Alumni collaboration
Alumni register
Please remember to keep your contact details and areas of expertise up to date in the alumni register. If you wish, you can subscribe to our alumni newsletter, published four times a year, where we share current news and updates for alumni. Through the register you can also indicate your interest in mentoring and other forms of cooperation with Humak.
Career monitoring survey
We will contact you with a career monitoring survey five years after your graduation. Humak alumni have been the most active respondents among all higher education institutions in Finland for two consecutive rounds. In 2024 and 2025, over 60% of the target group responded to the survey.
The career monitoring survey provides valuable information on the career paths of our graduates and on how well our degrees meet the needs of working life. The feedback received is used to develop our degree programmes and both the number and content of responses also have an impact on our funding.
Mentoring
We primarily recruit mentors for Humak’s mentoring programme from among Humak alumni. Mentors may also include pedagogical professionals who have worked in Humak’s education or projects.
There is no specific requirement regarding the amount of work experience in Humak’s mentoring programme; what we value most is the mentor’s commitment to Humak’s shared values.
Meetings between mentoring pairs can take place either inperson or online.
Events and alumni communications
We organise alumni events and working life fairs on our campuses across Finland as well as online. By following our communication channels, you will receive information about upcoming events and other topics of interest to our alumni.
