Humak mentioned in Singapore’s National Youth Plan Report
Humak and international cooperation in youth work
In May 2026, Humak hosted youth work and youth policy makers from Singapore. The visit focused on learning about Finnish youth work, education, and service systems as well as identifying new collaboration opportunities to jointly develop youth services and higher education for youth work professionals in both countries.
Some months later in summer 2026, Humak was mentioned in the singaporean Youth Plan Report of 2026. This highlights not only the deepening cooperation between the two countries in the field of youth work, but also the positive impact Humak has left with its own expertise. It is great to see that the Finnish model for youth work continues to inspire and create concrete plans and actions in other countries.
Am happy to share that we just launched our National Youth Plan. A lot of it is inspired by what you have done in Finland.
Shaun Teo, Assistant Director (Youth), Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth
The cooperation will continue with actively maintaining contact, sharing knowledge and practices and futher deepening the collaboration across sectors and stakeholders.
Internationally, countries such as the UK, Australia,
Japan, and Finland have embedded youth
community building in community settings,
supported by formal qualifications and
professional development. Finland integrates it
into municipal strategies across youth centres,
schools, and outreach services, with institutions
such as Humak training practitioners
through academic learning, field placements, and
reflective practice to build sustained, meaningful
relationships with youths.SG Youth Plan Report 2026
