How do I study in projects?

TKIO refers to the integration of learning and teaching with research, development and innovation activities. Development projects are significant learning environments for UAS students.In RDI projects, you can get involved in regional, national, or international development work. Working within project networks is also an excellent way to connect with working life and developer networks. Many Humak students have found employment through projects.

RDI projects offer excellent opportunities for internships, theses, and other study-related activities. Many courses, course assignments, and internship periods can also be completed within projects. You can clarify these opportunities directly with the lecturer responsible for the course or internship.

The projects are part of Humak’s research programmes, which include Resilient Society, Renewing Communities, and Vitality from Experiences. Explore Humak’s research programmes and projects, and the RDI projects within them, in Humak’s project directory.

Tasks corresponding to the learning outcomes of a course or internship can, by separate agreement, be placed within the project’s implementing or partner organisations. These can also serve as the commissioner of a thesis alongside the project.

This is how you can get involved in projects:

First, explore Humak’s RDI projects.

When you find a project that interests you, you can contact the project manager directly.

• Start by enquiring about the possibility of completing studies in the project and its current implementation phase.
• Be prepared to describe the degree you are completing, your stage of studies, your learning objectives, and your areas of interest.
• When enquiring about an internship place, also be prepared to present the learning objectives of your internship period.

Also keep an eye on internship and thesis opportunities offered by RDI projects in the Tuudo app and Teams channels, and seize the opportunities that arise.
