Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to www.humak.fi and its mobile version. This leaflet was last updated on 1.4.2021. The service is subject to the law on the provision of digital services, which requires that public online services must be accessible.

The accessibility statement applies to Humak’s main page as well as to the pages of active projects in the same publication system.

We have evaluated the availability of the service together with a third-party expert. Based on this, we have updated the technical structure, navigation and layout of our website and added the missing media responses to our website. We will also follow the accessibility principles in the content published on our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X and YouTube) as of September 23, 2020.

2. Unreasonable burden
Publications (e-books) published before 1.8.2020 do not meet all accessibility requirements for alternative text for images (ALT text) due to the lack of layout files for previously published works.

Picture captions for e-books published before 1.8.2020 will be provided upon request by stating the title of the work by e-mail to accessibility(at)humak.fi and stating the need to receive descriptive texts for the images.

Third-party embedded content on our website

The following third-party applications are used on our website. If the application does not display content in an accessible manner, the content will be displayed in an accessible manner for all users in the immediate absence of an embedded window. The applications include:

ThingLink

The application is used on project pages, websites and online store, as well as in the Student Guide. ThingLink visualizes the things presented in the text, so it acts as a visual media equivalent of the texts on our websites in many cases..

The end-user application window complies with WCAG 2.0 AA standards according to the service provider’s accessibility statement. If the content is not accessible in some way or the content of the application is not in other body text, we will display it in an alternative way in the immediate vicinity of the embed window.
