Welcome to Humak’s Accessibility Statement!

This accessibility statement applies to https://www.humak.fi and its mobile version. This statement was last updated on 5 August 2026. The service is subject to the Act on the Provision of Digital Services, which requires that public online services must be accessible.

The accessibility statement applies to Humak’s main page as well as to the pages of active projects in the same publication system.

We have evaluated the availability of the service together with a third-party expert. Based on this, we have updated the technical structure, navigation and layout of our website and added the missing media responses to our website. We will also follow the accessibility principles in the content published on our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X and YouTube) as of September 23, 2020.

Non-accessible Content

2. Unreasonable burden
Publications (e-books) published before 1.8.2020 do not meet all accessibility requirements for alternative text for images (ALT text) due to the lack of layout files for previously published works.

Picture captions for e-books published before 1.8.2020 will be provided upon request by stating the title of the work by e-mail to accessibility(at)humak.fi and stating the need to receive descriptive texts for the images.

Third-party embedded content on our website

Our website uses the following third-party applications. If an application does not present its content in an accessible way, we ensure that the same content is made available in an accessible format directly adjacent to the embedded window. The applications include:

ThingLink

This application is used on project pages, the main website, the Open UAS shop, and in the Student Guide. Thinglink is used to visualize information presented in text form, serving as a visual media counterpart to the written content on our website in many cases.

The end-user application window conforms to the WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility standards, in accordance with the accessibility statement (link opens in an external service) provided by the service provider. In cases where certain content is not fully accessible, or where the application’s content is not otherwise included within the surrounding text, we provide the corresponding information in an alternative accessible format immediately adjacent to the embedded window.
