Passionate for wellbeing in communities? Interested in developing your skills in group guidance? Apply to Humak University of Applied Sciences and study in one of our international Community Education degrees! We offer two Bachelor’s degrees and one Master’s degree.
What is rolling admission?
Rolling admission at Humak allows you to apply directly to Humak’s degree programmes taught in English. This way of applying is suitable for both international applicants and for those already living in Finland.
Applications are submitted through Finland’s national admissions portal called Studyinfo (Opintopolku). Please note that only applications that are submitted through the official Studyinfo portal will be processed.
Selection methods
Secondary education certificate
- Grade point average at least 3.0 on a scale of 1-5
- An acceptable language certificate for English
All documents must be available in Finnish, Swedish or English.
Completed secondary school qualification and SAT test score
- An eligible diploma (no GPA requirement)
- An acceptable SAT test score
- min. 400 points in Evidence-Based Reading Writing and
- min. 400 points in Mathematics
All documents must be available in Finnish, Swedish or English.

Rolling Admission vs. Joint Application
When looking into applying to a school in Finland, you might have heard of rolling admission and joint application. What are the differences between these two?
Rolling Admission at Humak
- Application period varies by year, the application might close earlier if all places are filled.
- Apply directly to Humak. Depending on the year, you might be able to apply to one or several programmes with the same application.
- Applications are processed as they arrive and the results of student selections will be published on a rolling basis.
- Selection is based either on the applicant’s secondary school grade point average or on a completed secondary school qualification combined with SAT results.

Joint Application in Finland
- Application period repeats annually around the same time. For English-taught higher education programmes, the joint application time is in January.
- Apply to several institutions and max. 6 programmes with the same application form.
- Applications are processed after the application time has finished and the results of student selections will be published by 31 May 2027 at the latest.
- Selection is based either on results on the International UAS Exam or certifications.
Eligibility criteria for Bachelor’s programmes
Applicants must hold a completed secondary school qualification from one of the countries listed below. Selection is based either on the applicant’s secondary school grade point average (GPA) or on a completed secondary school qualification (no GPA requirement) combined with SAT results.

Important information about SORA legislation
The so-called SORA legislation applies to education leading to a UAS degree in the field of social services and health care, humanities and education, sports and exercise and seafaring. These fields have requirements concerning the safety of minors, patient and client safety or traffic safety which restrict student admission. In these fields, it is required that health and functional capacity of approved applicants are such that they are able to take part in the practical assignments or training relating to studies.
Eligibility criteria for Master’s programmes
Eligible applicants must hold a relevant degree from a University of Applied Sciences or another relevant higher education degree. In addition to a prior degree, applicants must have at least two years of work experience in the relevant field after completing the aforementioned degree. The relevant field is considered to be both the field for which the applicant is now applying and the field in which the degree qualifying the applicant for admission was earned.

Application fee
Starting from 1 Jan 2025, applicants from outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland are required to pay an application fee in order to apply to higher education studies.If you are from outside the aforementioned area and you are applying to Bachelor’s or Master’s level studies in Finland, you will need to pay the application fee. The application fee is 100 euros. The application fee does not guarantee that you will be offered admission to studies.
