Global Talent Open Badge
A digital badge is a digital certificate of competence or achievement. It can be shared online and shows concretely what skills or experiences the badge holder has.
The Global Talent Open Badge is a virtual digital badge that allows you to make visible the diverse and meaningful international competence you have gained during your studies. With it, you can demonstrate your skills in languages, communication, intercultural competence, and international experience.

International competence is a key and valued working life skill. When you meet all the criteria of the Global Talent badge, you’ll be awarded a digital badge that you can use, for example, in your job search. You can attach the badge to your job applications.

The Build your international competence page describes different ways to develop your international competence at Humak. If your goal is to earn the Global Talent badge, it’s important to start planning in good time. The purpose of the badge is to make visible the diverse and meaningful international competence you have gained, so the criteria are intentionally measurable and demanding.
How to apply for the badge
- The Global Talent badge is awarded once you have completed all three areas: 1) languages and communication, 2) intercultural competence, and 3) international experience abroad. The studies can be completed at Humak or at another higher education institution in Finland or abroad. You can also make use of the CampusOnline offering and take part in a student exchange or a traineeship abroad.
- Once you have met all the criteria and want to apply for the Global Talent badge, first contact Education Planner Hilde Lehtonen in Teams or by email at hilde.lehtonen@humak.fi.
- To receive the badge, you need to submit the necessary evidence of meeting the criteria. Evidence may include, for example, a transcript of records from a foreign higher education institution, a traineeship certificate, possibly a language certificate, or a video demonstrating your language skills. You will receive information about the required certificates and instructions on how to submit them when you contact Education Planner Hilde Lehtonen.
