In Kuopio, you can study to become a community educator or interpreter. Our current campus is located in Hiltulanlahti, in the same premises as the Northern Savonia Folk High School, in the middle of a culturally and historically valuable landscape, surrounded by nature and a lake. Kuopio students will move to the Kuopio city center in autumn 2026. The exact location of the location will be announced in spring 2026.

Our campus has a cozy library, which offers opportunities for independent study. Restaurant Koivukokki is known for its tasty student-priced meals and fresh pastries.

Arrival

Humak’s Kuopio campus is located in Hiltulanlahti, approximately 12 km south of Kuopio city center. Matkus shopping center and Ikea are our closest landmarks.

By car

Along the old Finnish national road 5 is Kansanopistotie, where there is a sign for Pohjois-Savon opisto and Humak. Kansanopistotie is a dirt road, at the end of which are Pohjois-Savon opisto and Humak. To reach the parking lot, turn right from Kansanopistotie. The parking lot is marked.

Accessibility information

A wheelchair accessible taxi can be used to reach the front door of the building. The main door is not an automatic door. There is a bell next to the door. There is an accessible toilet/WC and an elevator on the first floor. The elevator goes to all floors.
