In Kuopio, you can study to become a Community Educator or an Interpreter
Starting in autumn 2026, our office will be located in Novapolis in Savilahti, offering the university a unique setting in the middle of an active business community, where studies are naturally connected to working life. The area, with hundreds of companies, provides excellent opportunities for networking and brings students close to future employers already during their studies.
The modern and comfortable facilities support smooth everyday life and learning. Novapolis is located near major public transport routes, and it is also easy to reach by car, bicycle, or electric scooter.
Arrival
Our campus is located at Microkatu 1M, 70600 Kuopio, in the T section on the third floor. Novapolis is located near busy public transport routes, and it is also easy to reach by car, bicycle, or electric scooter.
By public transport
The nearest bus stops are a short walk away between Microkatu and Prisma, served by several city bus lines. In addition, a few bus routes run via Sarastuskaari “behind” Microkatu.
By bicycle and electric scooter
The campus is easily accessible by bicycle. Novapolis offers several bicycle parking areas with frame locks around the Microkatu campus. The bike parks are marked with “Bike Zone” signs and are free of charge. In the summer, Novapolis can also be reached using Kuopio’s Vilkku city bikes. There is also a bicycle parking area in front of Microkatu (on the Savilahdentie side).
The campus can also be reached by electric scooter, and they are usually widely available near Novapolis.
By car
Short-term visitor parking is available in parking garages and in courtyard areas. Visitor spaces in the courtyards are marked with traffic signs.

The Microkatu courtyard area is marked as a shared street zone, meaning that vehicles must give way to other users of the area.
Designated accessible parking spaces are available in front of the main entrances A and M, as well as in the P parking building.
Curb ramps and lowered kerbs have been installed along pedestrian routes to support accessible movement.
The main entrances A and M are equipped with motion-sensor automatic doors. Fire doors in internal corridors are fitted with systems that close the doors automatically in case of a fire.
