The Higher Education Institutions as Innovation Engines for place-based climate solutions – Climate Engine
Climate Engine strengthens higher education’s role in tackling climate change through expertise, innovation, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Higher education institutions building the future of climate action
Climate Engine is a two-year international project that aims to harness higher education institutions as engines of climate innovation. This means developing the expertise of higher education institutions, conducting climate-focused research, building new partnerships, developing innovations, and supporting SMEs in the climate transition. The vision is that by 2030, higher education institutions will be places where practical climate solutions are created in collaboration with local actors.
The project has 12 partners: nine higher education institutions, one research institute, corporate partners, and a number of public and private actors. Humak brings human-centered expertise and perspective to the project.
