Climate-aware coaching

We are developing a training program that strengthens climate- and environment-aware work and life skills.

Promoting young people’s hope for the future

Adventure, action for the climate, climate emotions, visions of the future, and overcoming yourself – these words describe the core of the Climate-Aware coaching project.

In society, people in vulnerable situations often have a weak belief in the future. When hope decreases, their ability to act, be active, and use their own resources also decreases. And can you blame them? The world around us feels like it’s burning and changing rapidly.

In this project, we support the future hope of young people under 30 in Pirkanmaa who are outside education and working life. We work through doing things together, adventure activities, and concrete ways to influence the climate crisis. HUMAK’s role in the project is to provide expertise in experiential and adventure education.

Goals

The main goal of the project is to develop a coaching program that strengthens work and functional capacity while promoting climate and environmental awareness. The project is divided into sub-goals, which are

1. Strengthen young people’s hope for the future and their participation in society, and reduce anxiety and other mental health challenges.
2. Increase young people’s knowledge and ability to act in climate and environmental issues.
3. Improve participants’ work ability, functional capacity, and participation in education and employment.
