PINKO Small competence modules to support working life
We examine how to collaborate with working life in developing small modules and how to ensure their quality.
The Pinko project’s webinars and workshops train university of applied sciences (UAS) staff to implement small competence modules. The project examines how to collaborate with working life in developing these small modules, and models various ways to produce them, ensure their quality, and manage them administratively. Small competence modules are an emerging concept in continuous learning, based on the European Commission’s recommendation for micro-credentials (Micro Credentials).
Project Goals and Measures
1. Train higher education staff to produce small competence modules.
2. Model the working-life dialogue needed to implement small competence modules in a demand-driven way (work package led by Jamk and Karelia).
3. Model different production options for small competence modules, taking into account content created by RDI projects, parts of degree programs, as well as non-formal and informal education (work package led by Centria and Savonia).
4. Model the quality assurance and academic administration of small competence modules, considering the national framework for such modules and the opin.fi platform (work package led by SeAMK and VAMK).
5. Compare and gather experiences of implementing small competence modules in other EU countries (work package led by Lapland UAS and KAMK).
