Research permit
Research permission is required when research involves students or staff of Humak University of Applied Sciences, or Humak as an organization. Research permission must be applied for in writing.
Research permission grants the right to contact Humak’s students and/or staff regarding research-related matters. Research permission does not replace the participant’s consent to participate in the research. If the research collects information directly from individual persons, for example through surveys, interviews or other methods, each person makes the decision to participate in the research themselves.
A condition for granting research permission and releasing data/materials is that the researcher commits to handling the data in compliance with legislation concerning the processing of personal data and privacy protection.
The researcher is obligated to use the data/materials confidentially and solely for the purpose of conducting this research, and to safeguard the intimacy and anonymity of the individuals examined.
If the research creates a personal data register as defined by the Personal Data Act, a data file description for scientific research (Personal Data Act (523/99) Section 10 and Section 14) or a data file description (Personal Data Act (523/99) Section 10) must be included as an attachment. If necessary, an ethical pre-assessment statement must also be included as an attachment to the application.
