Humak in a nutshell

Humak is a national university of applied sciences that builds a more humane world and operates almost everywhere in Finland. We create a more equal society by developing expertise that connects people. We educate community educators, cultural producers and interpreters on both Bachelor’s and Master’s levels. We train experts who have the courage to defend people and humanity. We want to produce expertise that enables a sustainable lifestyle for current and future generations.

For more than 20 years, Humak has offered adventure and outdoor education as part of the Finnish-language degree in Community Education, as well as vocational education and open UAS courses. In autumn 2018, a new, English-language degree (Bachelor in Adventure and Outdoor Education, Community Educator), was launched. The degree graduates are international adventure education professionals who work in, for example, youth and education guidance and expert positions, in organisations and in companies providing nature and experience services.
