Becoming a Professional blog series explores where Humak graduates find work

28.10.2026

What kinds of jobs do Humak graduates go on to do? And what are the prospects in different fields? The Becoming a Professional blog series brings together information on where graduates of Humak’s Bachelor’s degree programmes find their place in working life. The posts are published in Finnish and English.

The five posts in the series cover the Community Educator, Cultural Manager and Interpreter degrees and their specializations. Each post describes the roles and organisations graduates have moved into, the strengths the degree provides, the direction the field is developing in, and what alumni encourage students to focus on already during their studies.

Labour market data and megatrends as the foundation

The posts are based on Statistics Finland’s graduate placement monitoring, the national career monitoring and AVOP surveys from 2021–2025, and Humak’s own employment studies in fields where there are still relatively few graduates. The data was also reviewed in future-oriented workshops with Humak’s management, which assessed how demographic change, global crises, sustainability pressures and differences in values between generations affect each degree.
