Cross-Institutional Studies

Ripa means that you can register for the studies found in Humak’s cross-study offer of different networks directly in your own Peppi student’s desktop, and also the evaluations are transferred directly to your PSP without the eRPL procedure or sharing study path links. 

You can register to the studies offered by higher education insitutions using Ripa in the same way as you would register for Humak’s own studies in Peppi. You can also easily find all the courses in Peppi through your PSP. Familiarize yourself with the offering well in advance, so that you will be able to register in time for your studies.

Instructions on how to find RIPA studies in Peppi student’s desktop

If you have the right to participate in studies organized by another higher education institution, you will see cross-study functions automatically in your student’s desktop. First, log in to Peppi student’s desktop, go to your PSP and to the Selecting Studies tab. From the magnifying glass symbol in your PSP on the right side, you can search cross-study studies and add them to your PSP to your hops.

In the study search, you can filter cross-study studies by selecting cross-study filtering as shown in the image below. When you have found the study you want t add to your PSP, click Add to basket on the right side of the page.

After this, click Add selected to PSP to export the selected studies to your PSP.

Instructions for course enrollments

Registration for cross-study courses is done on the Enrollments tab of PSP in the same way as you would enroll to your other studies. You will see the open enrollments for the studies that you have added to your PSP automatically under the heading “Enrollment ongoing”. Enroll for the course using the Enroll button on the right side.

After clicking the Enroll button, a new window opens where you confirm the permission to transfer your enrollment and study data to another institution. You must click that you accept the transfer of your data and then click Continue to save your enrollment.

When you have enrolled to a course, the enrollment information automatically transfers to the other institution. You can see the status of your enrollment in your student’s desktop (Enrollment waiting for approval/Enrollment approved/ Enrollment rejected).

When your enrollment has been approved for the course, you will get a study right in the other institution and you will receive a message from them containing instructions of how to start your studies in the other institution. The studies offered by the other higher education institution are separated by a symbol on the different tabs of the PSP

Transferring RIPA studies credits

When the studies have been completed, the credits will be automatically transferred your student’s desktop and to your PSP without the eRPL procedure or sharing the link of the study path.

When registering for RIPA studies, always follow the enrollment instructions of each course.

You can transfer your RIPA studies ECTS credits from other higher education institutions to Humak by searching the credits from My Studyinfo -service and filling in ERPL application in Peppi.

You can find RIPA’s course offerings in Pepi via HOPS. Log in to your student dashboard and go to the “Course Selection” tab in HOPS. Click on the magnifying glass icon on the right-hand side to add cross-disciplinary courses to your HOPS.

• A digital course catalog for completing associate degree programs at 24 universities of applied sciences.

• A digital course catalog for completing Master’s degree programs at 24 universities of applied sciences.

• Humak degree students can enroll in the “ABC of Junior Mentoring” course offered by Turku University of Applied Sciences

• A wide range of language learning paths designed in accordance with digital pedagogy, from level A1 to level C1.

• The Kumu-Humak network comprises the University of Jyväskylä and the Humak University of Applied Sciences. Eligibility to study is granted to degree students in the University of Jyväskylä’s Cultures and Communities in a Changing World (KUMU) bachelor’s and master’s programs, as well as to students in HUMAK’s Cultural Producer (Bachelor of Arts) and Community Educator (Bachelor of Arts) programs.
• HUMAK degree students may apply for a temporary right to study in the 25-credit “Cultures and Communities in the World” module offered by KUMU (at the bachelor’s level).

• The network consists of the University of Turku and the HUMAK University of Applied Sciences. The network agreement covers the degree program in Digital Culture, Landscape Studies, and Cultural Heritage at the University of Turku’s Pori campus, as well as the Cultural Production program at the University of Applied Sciences for the Humanities.

• The educational cooperation network between HUMAK and Lapland University of Applied Sciences. Students in the physical education instructor and hospitality management programs at Lapland University of Applied Sciences can enroll in HUMAK’s courses. Students in Humak’s English-language community education program (Degree Programme in Outdoor and Adventure Education, Community Educator) can enroll in courses at Lapland University of Applied Sciences.

• The Creative Entrepreneur studies are organised collaboratively by various higher education institutions. The versatile selection of courses covers a broad range of topics and areas of expertise. The institutions involved are Open Campus at Uniarts Helsinki (coordinator), Faculty of Art and Design at the University of Lapland, Cultural Management Programme at Humak University of Applied Sciences, LAB Institute of Design and Fine Arts and Hanken School of Economics.

• Cooperation between Diak and Humak in the delivery of advanced bachelor’s degrees and the enrichment of course offerings.

• Cross-Institutional studies between Diak and Humak in delivering interpreting training programs and enhancing the range of courses offered.

• Humak, the Jamk Business Unit, and the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Jyväskylä. The network’s target groups include all degree students, exchange students, and open university students at Jamk, the University of Jyväskylä, and Humak.

• YUNET offers students at its member institutions the opportunity to take courses in youth studies regardless of their location. YUNET is a collaborative network for youth studies comprising the Universities of Helsinki, Oulu, Tampere, and Turku; the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (XAMK); the Humak University of Applied Sciences; and the Finnish Society for Youth Studies. YUNET’s purpose is to promote high-quality education, research, and knowledge dissemination focused on youth.
• Humak degree students can freely select courses from YUNET’s course offerings for their elective studies. These courses are particularly suitable for youth work students at Humak who are pursuing Community Pedagogy studies.
• You can view the course offerings on the YUNET website under Courses | YUNET – University Network for Youth Research. Each course has its own application period. Application periods are listed in the course descriptions on the Courses page. For more information about the courses, contact the university offering the course.
• Please note that as a degree student at Humak, you apply for courses offered by the YUNET network—which are organized by other higher education institutions—through the YUNET portal. You apply for and register for Humak’s own courses in the same way as for other Humak studies, using Humak’s own registration system, Peppi.

• Humak, Xamk, and Centria form a joint cross-campus study network for community pedagogy studies. The universities in the network offer their community pedagogy students the opportunity to take community pedagogy courses not only at their own university but also at other universities in the network. Explore the community pedagogy (Bachelor’s) courses offered by other institutions and select the ones that interest you to include in your own degree program. Some courses have a limited quota for students from institutions other than their own.
