Survey for Adults Who Use Cochlear Implant

Are you between the ages of 18 and 74 and use a cochlear implant (and live in Finland)? Your experience matters.

Through this survey, we are investigating the need for various interpreting services among working-age adults who use cochlear implants—both now and in the future. Your response is important, even if you do not currently use interpreting services.

Please take a few minutes to complete this short online survey and help us develop future interpreting services for adults with cochlear implants.

  • Participation in the survey is completely voluntary.
  • It takes about 15 minutes to complete. The survey contains 15 questions.
  • The survey is anonymous. We do not collect any information that could identify you. The survey does not ask for your name or contact information, and we do not record your IP address. For statistical purposes, we only ask for your year of birth.
  • Please complete the survey by May 24, 2026.

This study is conducted as part of the “Need for Interpretation Services Among Adults with Cochlear Implants” (2024–2026) project at the University of Applied Sciences for the Humanities, funded by Kela (contract number KELA/1520/2024). The Ethics Committee for the Humanities at the Universities of Applied Sciences in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area issued a positive statement regarding this study on June 10, 2025.

The results gathered from the project and the survey will be used to develop both interpreting services for people with disabilities and interpreter training. A final report on the project will be prepared and published on our project website after the project concludes.

You can ask for more information about our study and this online survey by contacting the project’s lead researcher.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
