Get involved and make an impact

Students can give feedback on each course with a survey found on the course feedback system Spark which is integrated with Peppi.

Feedback can be given in two ways. Students can give continuous feedback throughout a course as many times as they want. After finishing a course, students can give the course conclusive feedback.

The Spark survey for conclusive feedback automatically activates a week before the course’s ending date shown on Peppi. You have 2 weeks to give feedback. Feedback is given anonymously. You will be sent an automatic email confirmation after filling in the survey.

Lecturers responsible for the course develop it based on the received feedback. Managers are responsible for quality monitoring and resourcing their whole education programme.

Extracts from open feedback can be used in Humak’s education marketing with the person who has given the feedback remaining unrecognisable.

The survey is conducted every other year for degree students during Humak’s “Weeks of Influence” in November. The aim of survey for degree students is to ensure that your studies are going well and progressing smoothly. You will receive a personalised link to your humak.fi email, where you can complete the survey once during its validity period. Feedback will be given and processed anonymously and responses cannot be linked to individual respondents.

If necessary, the survey system will send reminder messages to students who have not responded to the survey by then, and this will also be done in a completely anonymous way. The results will be processed by degree programmes and your feedback will be used to improve Humak’s activities and services.

The ZekkiPro Well-being Survey is conducted once a year in March–April for Humak’s degree and pathway students. Students receive a link to the ZekkiPro Well-being Survey via their humak.fi email address. In the survey, students can assess their satisfaction with, among other things, their health, ability to overcome difficulties, friends, finances, and self-esteem, as well as their need for support in their studies, time management, and motivation to study.

The survey provides students with color-coded insights into their own situation, well-being, and academic performance. In addition, the survey provides information on existing support services. The survey is answered anonymously, and at Humak, the results are reviewed at the group level. Based on the results, efforts are made to improve well-being support and the targeting of services.

The ZekkiPro well-being survey is part of the 4Q collaboration, which includes Arcada, Diak, KAMK, and Humak. The survey is conducted at all four universities.

All Bachelor’s and Master’s degree students graduating from a UAS respond to a joint AVOP student feedback survey of UASs and the Ministry of Education. The survey collects student feedback on issues related to teaching and learning, internships and work-life connections, and internationality. Five years after graduation, you will be contacted through a national career monitoring survey. The survey will find out how your degree has supported your transition to working life and what career paths have opened up for graduates. In 2026, the survey will be conducted from 7 October to 9 November for those who graduated from Humak in 2021.

You will receive a link to the survey in your email and via text message on the start date of the survey, October 7. We will also contact you by phone – we want to hear how you are doing and tell you why your answers are important to Humak. You will receive a reminder to respond via text message on October 20 and via email on October 29.

Please note: Emails regarding the survey will be sent from “Humak” with the sender address “uraseurannat@arvokyselyt.fi“. Text messages will also be sent from “Humak.”

The results of the career monitoring survey will be used at Humak, for example, to develop education and support career guidance for students. The data provide valuable information on, for example, the jobs graduates have been placed in and how well their studies have met the expectations of working life.

The career monitoring survey also has national significance: the results are used to determine part of the funding for universities of applied sciences, and the Ministry of Education and Culture also uses them to assess the quality of education. By responding, you support Humak’s development work, current students and future professionals.

The results of previous years’ surveys can be found in the Finnish National Agency for Education’s statistical service Vipunen and in the Töissä.fi service, where you can also find graduates’ career stories, job titles and information on working life in different fields.

The equality survey is carried out at Humak every three years, and practical measures to promote equality and equal opportunities are agreed on the basis of this survey.

Once a year in September, Humak conducts a survey of students who dropout their studies during the previous year. The survey examines the reasons for withdrawal and any interest in resuming studies.

Give feedback and influence Humak’s operations

The Have Your Say at Humak feedback channel is designed for Humak staff and students to contribute to the development of our operations. You can share a development suggestion to improve our activities, share a good practice, or report an identified issue.

Submitting feedback

As a student, you can submit feedback anonymously or optionally provide your contact details to receive information about how your feedback is being processed and any resulting actions. Your feedback is always processed anonymously.

Staff members must provide their contact details. In this case, feedback is processed with your name attached, and you will receive a response about the processing and any resulting actions.

Please note that the feedback form requires logging in with your Humak credentials.

What happens to my feedback?

1. Receipt: Your feedback is received by the secretary of the Quality and Resource planning Committee for processing.
2. Processing: Based on its content, the feedback is directed to the appropriate committee or group for review, and the supervisor is informed. They assess what actions the feedback requires.
3. Decision: The feedback is discussed in a meeting where decisions are made about possible actions. Processing may involve multiple parties.
4. Communication: If you have provided your contact details, you will receive information about how your feedback was processed and any resulting actions.

Whistleblowing channel

The whistleblowing channel is intended for reporting allegations of abuse under the Whistleblower Directive. You can submit a whistleblower report for allegations of misconduct against the Humak, for example:

• public procurement
• money laundering and terrorist financing
• product safety and compliance
• protection of privacy and personal data
• network and information systems security

Notifiers have whistleblower protection and notifications are submitted anonymously. Whistleblowing reports are handled by the President and the Director of Administration, who are bound by confidentiality.

Safety channel

The safety channel is intended for reporting near misses, threats, incidents and security incidents. A notification should be submitted with your name, a description of the incident and the time of the incident.

The Safety Manager will process the notifications, take the necessary action and contact with the notifier on the progress of the notification. Notifications will also be discussed by the Humak Security Group and, if necessary, referred to other institutions.

In the event of an acute incident, you should act in accordance with Humak’s safety guidelines.
