Quality of education
Students play a key role in our quality work.
Your feedback makes our education better
Quality work at Humak is based on continuous improvement: we systematically plan, implement, evaluate and develop our activities. You play an important role in this.
You can give feedback on your courses and in student surveys during your studies and after graduation. You can share development ideas, good practices and shortcomings you have noticed at any time through the Have your say at Humak feedback channel, anonymously if you wish. We use your feedback to develop our education and services. You will also receive feedback yourself during your studies.
Humak has extensive and active student representation. As a student representative, you can directly influence how Humak develops.
The image below shows how the quality of education is monitored and developed from the student’s perspective.

Higher education institutions are required by law (Universities of Applied Sciences Act 932/2014) to take part in external evaluation of all their activities. Humak passed the audit conducted by the Finnish Education Evaluation Centre (FINEEC) in 2024. The audit shows that our activities and quality system meet both national and European criteria for quality assurance in higher education. The quality label awarded by FINEEC is valid until 4 October 2030, and Humak is listed in the register of audited higher education institutions.
The 2024 audit was carried out in accordance with FINEEC’s Audit manual for higher education institutions 2019–2024. It evaluated the procedures used to maintain and develop the quality of education, research, development and innovation (RDI), and societal engagement and impact.
Audits help students, staff and stakeholders identify the strengths, good practices and areas for development of a higher education institution. This lays the foundation for continuous improvement. Higher education institutions in Finland have been audited since 2005.
Students play a significant role in the audit. The 2024 audit included student workshops attended by 36 students from Humak’s different fields. In the workshops, students discussed, among other things, their opportunities to participate in developing the institution’s activities. By taking part in the audit, you can influence your study experience and the quality of student services.
