Plan your studies
You have a say in what your study path looks like!
Planning your studies is a continuous process. You build your path by choosing suitable traineeship places, making use of your prior learning, and seizing interesting opportunities — from language studies to entrepreneurship and international experiences. Return to your plan whenever your direction becomes clearer.
Personal Study Plan (PSP) and study planning
At the beginning of your studies, you’ll create your own personal study plan (PSP). With it, you plan and schedule your studies and follow their progress. Your PSP coach is there to support you.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Your prior learning can be part of your degree. We recognise competence you have gained before or during your studies — through work, hobbies, or other education.
Cross-institutional studies
You can complement your studies by taking courses at other Finnish higher education institutions through cross-institutional studies.
Language studies
Your degree includes studies in English and the second national language. Here you’ll find information on language study requirements, assessment, and strengthening your language skills.
Train and grow in working life
Working life is part of your studies — not just the goal. Through internships, RDI projects, and accreditation of work experience, you learn by doing real work in real working environments. At the same time, you build networks and professional skills that will carry you far.
Internship in working life
Your studies include at least 30 ECTS of internship in real working environments. Here you’ll find information on applying for an internship place, agreements, and internship practices.
Accredit your work
If you work alongside your studies, you may have the opportunity to accredit your work as part of your degree. Here you’ll find information on when accreditation is possible and what steps are involved.
Learn through projects
In RDI projects, you take part in real development work — within projects, you can complete studies, do your traineeship or thesis, and at the same time build networks for working life. Here you’ll find information on how to look for a project that suits you and ask about joining it.
Build your international competence
International and multicultural competence is an essential part of the professional skills of every Humak graduate.
