A bilingual Mini-Guide to Activity-based methods for Educators

Building a sustainable world through community education (1.9.2022-29.2.2024) is a project in which will developed a new functional bilingual study module (LEARN – Supporting communities through experiential learning (25 ETCS) consisting of parts from the community education and adventure education degrees at Humak University of Applied Sciences. Project is funded by The Ministry of Education and Culture, Finland.

The first edition of the LEARN study module took place in 2023, specifically designed for Ukrainian professionals in the fields of education and social work. Study module used a bilingual approach (FIN-ENG), wherein the fundamentals of the Finnish language were initially covered in the Finnish 1 course. Subsequently, the language was further learned through various other methods.

LEARN study module has plenty of goals, but one of the main goals has been to strengthen the students’ knowledge and skills of in the use of experiential and activity-based methods as part of the promotion of resilience and community growth.
