Library
The HUMAK University of Applied Sciences Library is open to all customers but it primarily serves students, teachers and staff of HUMAK. Each campus has its own library and most of the campus libraries also serve the students and the staff of the kansanopisto operating on the same campus.
Most of the campus libraries catalogue their books on HUMAK’s online library database HURMA. The material of the Tornio Campus can be found in Juolukka, the online catalog of the Lapland University Consortium library, and the Helsinki campus has its own library database. The Youth Research Library in Helsinki serves the Master’s Degree students in NGO and Youth Work. The collections in most of the HUMAK libraries are classified according to the Finnish Public Libraries Classification System.
In order to borrow material from the library you need to register as a library user. You can register in any campus library. The opening times of the library are different in each campus: please contact the library in question for more detailed information. The loan periods are different in each campus library, but the majority of items have a loan period of 28 days. Library users can renew their loans in HURMA. The library does not charge any overdue fees, but users are responsible for all material borrowed on their library card. Library users may also reserve material by contacting the librarian on their campus.
The HUMAK Library also provides its customers different kinds of electronic resources. The resources are available in computers on the HUMAK campus network. Remote access to electronic resources is available by logging into HumakPro.
Please contact any of the campus libraries for more information.
