Humak library offers both printed and electronic collections. You can search both collections via the Humak Finna search page.
Library acquisitions focus on electronic resources. Our licensed e-materials are for Humak students and staff only and can be accessed by logging in with your HAKA ID (Humak ID). Printed material is acquired with severe discretion or per collection. Teacher copies of the books are not purchased for the collections. Library opening hours and material loan times vary by collection and campus library.
Humak libraries are open to the public. After registration you are able to borrow printed material. You will be able to register a library card upon providing your contact information and presenting photo ID. Humak Library does not issue library cards but you can bring any card with a barcode (e.g. a library card from another library) to register as a Humak library customer. To access this service, make an appointment beforehand at your nearest Humak campus library. Contact details of the campus libraries can be found on the Humak Finna main page. Humak students can activate their library card using the Tuudo app.
Your library card is personal. You are responsible for all materials borrowed with your card and you are liable for any damages.
Log into Humak Finna to check your personal information and extend your loans. You can also renew your loans by email, by phone or by visiting the library. Loans may be renewed a maximum of 15 times.
Humak students and staff can also access electronic material off-campus by logging into Humak Finna with their HAKA-identification (Humak identification).
You can borrow resources from another Humak campus library free of charge. Intercampus loans are only for materials that are not available in electronic form.
Humak lends material to other libraries, with the exception of reference books and course books at the Jyväskylä and Kauniainen campuses. Article copies are also provided. No fee is charged. Interlibrary loan requests can be sent directly to the campus library where the publication is available or to the Humak library email: kirjasto@humak.fi
Printed book: First, search for the book you want in Humak Finna, click the title to open the record and click the “Order form” button in the upper right corner of the page. Library customers can use this form to order printed material to their nearest Humak library. Printed material will not be mailed if an electronic version is available to the customer.
E-book: You cannot reserve e-materials via Humak Finna. Some providers allow reservations on e-books. For example, on the Ellibs platform, you can make a reservation for an Ellibs e-book.
You can request a copy of an article for personal, non-commercial use. Due to copyright issues, the requested article will not be forwarded by e-mail, but will be printed out and physically handed over.
You can see new library material on the front page of Humak Finna.
