Core Issue: Linguistic accessibility in social services and health care

The Core Issue project develops the skills related to the linguistic accessibility of social and health service personnel. Competence development includes the development of interaction skills as well as environments and services related to linguistic accessibility. In short, after the project, social and health service environments and services will be more linguistically accessible to all. The project operates in North Savo.

The need to develop linguistic accessibility skills arises from, among other things, changed legislation, an increasingly diverse customer base, the digitalisation of services and the pursuit of cost-effectiveness of services.

Linguistic accessibility aims to ensure that people understand and become understood in their lives. When linguistic accessibility is realized, the right to self-determination and inclusion will be better taken into account.
