Mobile Youth Work in Finland Research Project

The research project on mobile youth work (6/2021-8/2022) defined the concept of mobile youth work and described and analysed the activities of Wuuto as youth work. The phenomenon under study was examined from the perspectives of the local workers involved and the young people who visited Wautoi. In addition, the project examined the observations of the coordinating party on the activities. The results of the project will support the further development of the mobile youth work.

Mobile youth work is one way to implement and develop youth work in changing operating environments. The description of the working method and the concept definition enable the development of competence in the youth sector, in municipal youth services and even at the level of an individual employee.

There are many ways in which mobile youth work is done (the research report contains a summary of the actors in Finland and their contact information), the Walkers cars (Wauto) of NGO Children of the Station enable experiments in mobile youth work in municipalities.
