Turku Åbo Summer School, Begin Your Studies in Finland

Are you currently residing in, or planning to visit Finland in August? Interested in fully accredited high quality English language courses by Finnish universities? Turku Åbo Summer School has got you covered. Check out the available courses from their website, the only application requirements are 18 years of age and fluent English. No university enrolment is required.

Turku Åbo Summer School

Turku Åbo Summer School 2021 is a cooperation of five local higher education institutions: Humak University of Applied Sciences, University of Turku, Åbo Akademi University, Turku University of Applied Sciences and Novia University of Applied Sciences. Each university has a selection of courses on offer at the Summer School.

ECTS credits are used to measure the workload and gained by studying. After you’ve completed a summer course your accumulated ECTS credits are transferred to your home university via the ECTS system. In addition to earned ECTS points you will receive the course diploma by email and a signed and printed diploma during the course.

What Courses Are Available?

Check out all available courses from the Turku Åbo Summer School website. Humak’s course offerings include Multimodal Interaction in Professional Contexts and Community Educators as Adventure Education Experts. Read more about these courses here! Course-specific fees range from 45 euros to 75 euros. You’ll strengthen your skills and get the latest insights on topics ranging from marine ecology to education and international trade.

Turku Åbo Summer School also offers a Sustainable Social Programme for 100 euros. The idea behind the social programme is to raise awareness about sustainability and thus help combat the climate crisis. During the Sustainable Social Programme you will learn about Finnish circular economy and recycling system, visit archipelago and an island-based research station, have a relaxing sauna evening with nature friendly products, pop-in to a local food farm and much more!

How Do I Apply?

Applying for courses is easy. After finding a course that interests you, you submit an online form found in the course description. After submitting your application you’ll get a confirmation email about your application, and later on you’ll get another email confirming your acceptance to the Turku Åbo Summer School. After acceptance you’ll be asked to pay the course fee, after which you’ll receive your letter of acceptance.

Application is open 20.1.-12.4.2021.

Turku Åbo Summer School is currently preparing for face-to-face teaching and social program for summer 2021.

However, the developments linked to the COVID-19 pandemic are closely monitored and the program will be adjusted if necessary. Should the Summer School be organized online, we will notify participants of this in April.
